The end of CG as a WoW-Guild

February 29th, 2012

After careful consideration and after consulting with a number of people, I have decided to terminate Conscious Gaming as a World of Warcraft Guild after over two and a half years. The main reasons are the following: Most of the longterm members of the guild have lost interest in WoW as a game and there is no point in continuing a project in a game without an active playerbase. We stopped raiding after we started hardmode progress in the Firelands and we have been draining players ever since. The attempt to form a new raiding team failed due to conflicts within the guild. My personal reason to terminate CG is that WoW has lost its appeal to me as a game and that in order to support an active raiding team, more time would have to be invested than I am willing to, as well as concessions would need to be made that would harm the political dimension of the guild in order to increase the pool of players to the needed range.

The forum will not be taken offline however and a number of people suggested the wish to meet again in some game in the future. Diablo 3 might be just that game – we shall see. The items in the guildbank have been converted into gold and the gold will be handed out according to guild contribution as gathered from the armory.

Happy Holidays everyone!

Raiding to start again

November 6th, 2011

For a long time you haven’t heard anything from us, but the good news is:

We Are Back!

When the players had to face the Rage of the Firelands, Conscious Gaming decided to step back from progress raiding, and for the entire duration of the patch 4.2 we raided casually just once a week. We did pretty well considering our schedule, and have so far killed 2/7 HC bosses.

Four weeks ago we also formed a second raid group for social players and alts, who — with 2 raids per week — already killed 7/7 normal bosses.

We are happy to announce that now, with the coming of the patch 4.3, Conscious Gaming will start again with progress raiding. We will raid 3 times a week, on Wednesday, Sunday and Monday.

So, with these news we open the recruitment again for players who are willing to progress with us through the challenges to face Deathwing!

Old content fun and the reorganisation of the raiding team

June 21st, 2011

Although we didn’t have any heroic kills to report in the past month, CG hasn’t been idle. We primarily have been focusing on social events, most prominently on ICC 25. Not only were we able to defeat the still pretty challenging LK encounter on heroic mode in the 25 player version of ICC, which we weren’t able to raid in WotLK being a strict 10 player guild, and got ourselves a nice title there, we were able to forge Shadowmourne too. Thanks to the looking-for-guild-tool that was implemented in the last patch our playerbase has been ever-growing which is great too. We have started to set up casual raids ones per week for our social members and hope for some easy farming there till the firelands-patch his life.

Sadly, our raiding team has to take a break right now. Ever since Cataclysm came out, several old members have been stepping down from the raiding team for various reasons, including the former raidlead. That lead to a suboptimal progressrate which now resulted in a breakdown in motivation and in the leave of several raid members. For now we will raid on a casual way, recruiting social members and reestablishing regular raiding should we see sufficient potential in the guild. For now, the focus of the guild will shift more towards being a social project than a raiding one and we are looking forward to plenty of new members to enjoy the summer with us.

Max Guild Level + New Heroic Mode

May 29th, 2011

To keep the news chronologic:

On friday 27 may CG reached level 25. Conscious Gaming has now reached the current maximum level a guild can achieve. As a little treat for all our members with an exalted reputation with CG, we have the scorpid mount in the list of rewards from our guild vendor. Enjoy the ride on the Kor’kron Annihilator and don’t get yourself stinged.
Our latest guild perk is the mass resurrection. May it save us time in future progress raids so that we can focus on the important things such as killing bosses.

On the saturday raid (28 may) the Raiding team managed to kill Valiona and Theralion on heroic mode. I will not provide you with a screenshot this time but feel free to have a look on our profile on GuildOx here. You may like to hear that no mass resurrections were used in the progress of killing the heroic twin drakes.

Magmaw and Omnitron hero defeated

May 15th, 2011

Hello everyone,
It’s been a while that our Raiding team downed first the Omnitron defense system and then the lava worm Magmaw on heroic mode. It’s been sunday the 8th of May and our victorious raiders are: Azatoth, Garamor and Aamutähti, Lacryma, Liebknecht and Sangîus, Lyrasia, Nanni, Sazsa, Senaty, Thyrael and Toofpaste. Good job you lot!
(Garamor being the alt of Aamutähti and Sangîus + Liebknecht being alts of Sangius)

Also, we have now reached level 23 as a guild. That means, we are no longer capped with our daily Guild XP.
We’re currently recruiting new members for our raiding team. Check out the recruiting tab on the right to see whether your class/spec is on the list and contact us on our forums or ingame.

So long — enjoy the pictures of the firstkills.

We’re a Level 20 guild

April 12th, 2011

Hello Folks,
As of today, Conscious Gaming is a level 20 guild, meaning that we have quite some active players collecting those guild experience points so that we now have a new guild-perk: The Happy hour :-)
Have you ever asked yourself why the alchemists get a longer flask buff? — It’s because they clean their bottles and flasks before they mix their stuff. Since today, we no longer need to choke down those dusty week-old flasks from our inventory (where no one really knows what the alchemist has used them for before putting in the mixtures for us) — now we get the freshly brewed stuff directly from the cauldron with a 1.5-3h buff duration and it’s enough for all of us.
Another advantage of being a level 20 guild are the seven neat heirloom helmets for lvl 1 – 85 for all of our guild members at the guild vendor. Enjoy.

Also, we have a somewhat new design on this website. You no longer need to screen my postings for our raid progress — it’s all in the table on the right side; together with an overview about which classes we are currently recruiting new raiding team members from.

Social members are always welcome, regardless of their class.
You should play horde, though.
Or switch faction.

Best,
Sklodowska

Slayer of Stupid, Incompetent and Disappointing Minions

April 6th, 2011

This new title was awarded to nine glorious raiders who managed to survive the firstkill on the dragonkin Maloriak. We experimented quite a bit on this encounter and finally got the right balance between damage on the boss and the adds and interrupting or not interrupting the boss’s casts. After an early promising try where we brought him to 5.2% we became determined to finish him off tonight. Although it seemed that we had raiddays with better overall concentration here is, again, proof of our victory:

With 4/13 hard modes down, we are now realm #5 in 10-player progress.

Atramedes heroic dead — CG out for more hero kills

March 30th, 2011

Tonight, the blind dragon bit the dust on heroic on our behalf. We proudly present our firstkill screenshot with the new achievement:

The next heroic encounter we’re setting on our kill-list is Maloriak and we’re confident to see a screenshot of him very soon on these pages.

CG kills Chimaeron hero (15.3.2011)
